Humans
ALWAYS ADAPTING
description:
Humans are easily the most common beings in this world. They are massive in number and have a real talent for making life hard on other beings. Most humans are ignorant of the existence of non-humans. There are some groups of humans known as "Hunters" who seek non-humans and kill them, believing them to be a threat. These hunters are highly feared by non-humans, because they are known to be skilled in trapping and killing their prey.appearance:
Humans have a highly varied appearance. They can have a wide range of skin, eye and hair colors (and many will even tamper with their hair and eyes via contact lenses and hair dyes). Their average build varies dependent on where their ancestors are from.features:
Humans have no extraordinary powers, like non-humans. They are, however, very clever creatures with a talent for finding and killing what they please. Their largest strength is in numbers.lifestyle:
Human lifestyle can vary greatly. Most have a home and some sort of method of transportation (a car or bike or something like it). Typically they live in a family setting with two parental figures (occasionally less or more), and most have siblings (though some do not). It's hard to truly pin down the human lifestyle because there are so many humans that live so differently.Angels
guiding guardians
description:
Angels are benevolent beings, you could say, in that they always have the best of intentions. There is no such thing as an evil angel. However, each angel represents some sort of quality. An angel of virtue would be a particularly virtuous being, where an angel of war (while well intentioned) might behave rashly and turn to violence for righteous means. Most angels tend to be very likable, social beings, and most are gentle beings who would fight with words before physical violence (though again, this does not always apply).appearance:
Angels are beautiful creatures who typically take the form of humans. Each has a single human form they can take on at will, as well as the form of an animal that represents their "element". When they take the form of an animal, they appear as a solidly white creature. Angels often have pale blue or green eyes, though some exhibit unusual colors like reds and violets. In their natural state, they appear similar to their human form but with white hair and wings, and they shimmer with a brilliant light. The intensity of their brilliance will literally blind any humans who see them in their natural state (which is why they take on human form).features:
Angels have the ability to shift between an animal that represents what they stand for (for example, an angel of cleverness might take the form of a fox or a cat while an angel of war might take the form of a lion or wolf). They each have one human form, and an angelic form. Their angelic form shines with a glorious light, which is part of their angelic aura (which exists whether they show it or not). This aura has the ability to cleanse evil. Angels often excel in whatever they put their heart into with relative ease, and they have something very naturally likable about them. Only creatures of darkness (like demons and vampires) seem to be able to resist this easily.lifestyle:
Angels typically collect in small groups. Often 2-5 angels live and spend time together. It's rare to see one of these creatures far from their group. Often they live in a sort of luxurious modesty where they have very nice, yet very simple things. These smaller pods of angels typically stay near an arch angel (an leader among angels).Demons
devilishly decieving
description:
Demons are creatures of darkness who strive to corrupt creatures of goodness. It is said that they themselves used to be angels, but that they corrupted their good meanings into bad ones. Thus, each demon (like angels) represents something specific, though for demons they represent things like greed, lust and malice. They are sneaky, and seek ways to cause others to divert from a more righteous path. While they will resort to violence when frustrated, they often try to use trickery first.appearance:
Also like angles, demons have three forms. Their natural form is of a dark, winged shadow creature, often display some sort of horns. They have a dark, tainting aura that is there whether they show it in this form or hide it in another. As humans, they often have a very physically appealing form, easily used to tempt others. Their third form is that of a distorted animal that symbolizes what they represent. For example, malice might be a solid black tiger with horns and longer fangs that make it look more like a monster. Demons cannot change their eye color between forms, thus their eyes are always a deep scarlet crimson.features:
Demons have a way with trickery. They have smooth, sultry voices that could tempt anyway, and they have a way of making their darker purposes seem to be the better path in some way. They are harmful beings, and have the ability to possess bodies of other living creatures. They fear only angels and their cleansing auras. They have their own tainting auras that can soil anything that hasn't been cleansed by an angel.lifestyle:
While they often live on their own, demons do tend to flock near-by one another. Whether this is because they like being near their own kind, or because they are simply attracted to the same things is unclear. They often live in a grossly rich way, though some choose to live in poverty instead. However, if living in riches they can use those riches to temp other beings.Cyborgs
cleverly created
description:
Cyborgs are half human, half machine. Often, this is the result of some sort of extreme injury where some sort of mechanical replacement of limbs or organs was required. They can be just as varied as humans (seeing as they would have been humans at one point), typically having full control of themselves and free will. It is possible to control a Cyborg, but the process is difficult, though easier if the individual is more machine than human. Typically, Cyborgs serve some sort of master who created or "saved" them.appearance:
Cyborgs have a very human-esque appearance, but can vary even more-so than humans because of their added mechanical parts. The look of their mechanics can vary depending on their "creator". They have human skin, eye, and hair colors, and often dress in ordinary clothing.features:
Because of their mechanical advancements, Cyborgs are like more advanced humans. They can typically move faster and are stronger than any human could manage. They might even have additional additions like built in blades depending on where they were manufactured, or "saved" as humans call it. Few retain their human memories, and they have a longer life-span than humans because they simply age slower. Most have "built-in" computers that allow them to access knowledge they don't have to learn naturally. Their memory can be limited by human standards or by what memory chips have been given to them. They are one of the only 9lifestyle:
Cyborgs can live in any number of human-esque settings, but often live with much more technical and mechanical equipment. They often remain in contact with the scientist/engineer who created them, many times referring to that scientist/engineer as their parent.Dracokin
impeccably ingenious
description:
Dracokin are a very rare species. Their ancestors are ancient dragons who souls managed to find their way into humans. They're strong-willed creatures, and clever. Often, they would rather be a loner than hang with any sort of group. If they pick a lover, they stick to them without wavering. They are loyal to the few bonds they do make, though they find themselves above most relationships. They're wise, and sometimes get flashbacks of past lives. Dracokin seem not to age past maturity, and can live eternally, as far as anyone knows, if they're not killed. However, dracokin seem to have a knack for getting themselves killed at some point, to later be reborn again as a new being. They often say it is because eternity bores them. They often have an attraction to anything shiny or expensive looking, and have been known to hoard treasures.appearance:
Dracokin look very similar to humans. They're typically on the taller side (though if they descended from smaller dragons they might be more petite) with unusually colored eyes that almost seem to glow with a piercing stare. Even some other supernatural creatures don't believe in their existence because they are so low-key, even visually. They don't seem to age past maturity, which they reach at roughly the same age as humans.features:
Dracokin are very powerful creatures. They each have an element/power they represent, the most common being fire and ice (though water, air and poison have also been known to exist as well). They have the ability to spread this element through touch, as well as breath (like breathing fire). They are as strong as vampires physically, and are just as swift. They're very intelligent creatures, though, and prefer to work their way around others vocally rather than physically if possible, seeing no point in exerting more energy than necessary.lifestyle:
Dracokin live rich lifestyles because they are so fascinated by treasures. They have a knack for finding and utilizing things to their fullest, and so while they might not start out rich (though many of them seem to), they have a way of getting rich pretty quickly once they're matured.Fei
convincingly childish
description:
Fei are very impish race of Faerie. They often use their powers to manipulate and mess with people, though often their doing so ends in some important life lesson. The most curious thing about these creatures, perhaps, is their mysterious abilities. Nobody knows quite what it is they can do, except the Faerie races. One thing is certain, though. They're not as innocent as they seem.appearance:
Fei are very childish creatures in appearance. They often have longish hair, which can naturally have odd colored streaks or be half one color, half another. Each of them wears at least one hourglass filled with their own "Faerie dust" as they refer to it. They have very large, curious, yet innocent eyes which make the childish effect of them truly convincing. Fei are known to have multiple piercings and to wear interesting accessories, often appearing somewhat steampunk. Typically, other than their sort of odd dressings, Fei are very human in appearance, except perhaps a slight point to their ear.features:
Fei have absolutely wonderful powers. They are one of two classes of Faeries, each with their own unique powers. The Fei have the ability to see through time. They can see the past of any object or person within view, though so much is hard to remember all the time so they often only remember the "important" stuff. They also have the ability to see what is known as "possible" futures; futures that might happen but do not necessarily happen as the future is unstable. If a Fei plays too much with time, he or she may become time confused and forget which time period they are currently looking at (past, present or future?). They cannot directly control what they see all the time, and when they exercise control it is purely exhausting. All Faeries have a magical aura that helps them be overlooked when they choose, or feign innocence.lifestyle:
Fei often live in a very human environment. They can slip in anywhere (orphanages, foster homes, boarding schools) if they choose, but many make homes of their own. If they can manage, they might even pay for one! While they're very friendly with both their own kind of Faeries and the Miriad, they typically are loners.Miriad
seeing stars
description:
These bright imps are just as curious and rare to find as their Faerie cousins. They're curious, and eager to cause trouble just for a good laugh. These particular imps have a fondness for causing people more inner turmoil, inducing deep personal reflection and thought, though they often have more good intentions in doing so than Fei. While they enjoy causing trouble, they love causing trouble that can help people to grow and mature.appearance:
The Miriad have a youthful look, though older than their Fei cousins. Typically they have longish hair, and the greater majority are male. Their hair can come in very odd colors that make it look as though it were dyed (like purples and blues), but their eyes always seem to stand out as particularly bright, as though you can see your own soul reflected in them. The Miriad look very much like young humans between 12 and 14 years old, but their ears are somewhat pointed. They often dress in very trendy clothing, as well, and their mysterious good looks often make them the objects of first crushes.features:
The Miriad have the amazing ability to manipulate and move through reflections. This ability is most easily applied through perfectly reflective surfaces like water, though some of the more experienced Miriade can reach the mirrored realm they travel through via rippling water or semi reflective surfaces.lifestyle:
Miriad almost never seem to sleep, but have been known to take homes among humans, sometimes in orphanages or foster homes, sometimes among families, sometimes at boarding schools, or sometimes in abandoned buildings. It is believed that many like to reside in the mirrored realm during the night, though this can't be proven.Kitsunes
bewitchingly bright
description:
Kitsunes are interesting creatures because they're so unusual. One of the most rare creatures, these are hard to pick out of a crowd because they're very talented at blending in when they don't want to be seen. They're sly, clever and swift beings who enjoy getting into trouble with the right motivation. It's hard to get close to one of these creatures, because first and foremost, they're out for themselves.appearance:
Kitsunes are lithe people, roughly the high of humans on average. In fact, they could quite easily pass for humans, if it weren't for their tails and ears. These fox demons tend to have very sharp features, intense eyes and brightly colored hair. Their most common eye colors are yellow, blue and green, and their most common hair colors are white, blonde and brilliant shades of red. They can employ magic to disguise their ears and tails to human eyes, but their inhuman features are still visible to all non-humans. Each kitsune is born with one tail, and their number of tails increase with their magic. The more tails a kitsune has, the more powerful they are. Thus, older kitsunes tend to have more tails while younger kitsunes tend to have less tails.features:
Kitsunes are very magical creatures, highly prone to mischief. While they're very clever and often kind, their magic revolves mostly around trickery. This contributes to their playful nature, and it means most Kitsunes have a knack for puzzles and games (though many are prone to cheating). Kitsunes have magic to disguise themselves from humans, as well as to conceal themselves from sight all together. They can also take the form of a fox, though their number of tails doesn't change. Kitsunes have something of an aversion to Inuonis.lifestyle:
Kitsunes have a habit of living like college students their whole lives. They often have apartments over houses because they like the ability to move on when they see fit, which means they also collect fewer large possessions. However, they do often have a lot of little keepsakes and memories. Most kitsunes are too busy with their mischief to get to cleaning up their homes, too.Nekonis
certifiably crafty
description:
Nekonis get quite a bad rep. They're known as the "bad", "outcast" type. They certainly give themselves that sort of appearance too, but Nekonis are much deeper than that. They're something of quiet guardians, often standing up for or acting in favor of people they find worthy of their help. It's not unusual for a Nekoni to bond with a few people (often other Nekonis) where they will act more open and friendly. It's shockingly unusual for nekonis to be as dark as people seem to picture them.appearance:
Nekonis have very cat-like features (of course). Their eyes, particularly, are intense, and they have slitted pupils. Nekonis have the ability to shift into a cat form, which is reflected in their human form as well. If they have long fur, they have long hair. Their fur and hair color are similar as well, and their eye color doesn't change. Most Nekonis are lithe, as well.features:
These creatures are flexible, agile and swift. They love climbing and being in high places, but when they fall they always seem to land on their feet! Of course these creatures not only have cat-like abilities, but can take the form of a cat.lifestyle:
Nekonis are independant creatures, mostly. They most frequently prefer to live on their own or with few other people. Most often, Nekonis live in easily movable situations, whcih means that they rarely own more than a car and a few essentials. They might rent an apartment, but many of them are willing to kip on people's floors or in their car overnight instead of actually living somewhere.Inuonis
constant companions
description:
Inuonis are very friendly creatures, known for their compassion and enthusiasm. While not all of them are necessarily friendly, they're much more prone to love than to hate. If you think you don't know an Inuonis, you probably do. Not only are they more common than most creatures, but they're quick to make friends. appearance:
Like Nekonis, Inuonis have the ability to turn into canines and their human form imitates their canine form. Their eye color stays constant, and their build imitates their "breed". An Inuoni that turns into a Pitbull would probably be stronger and more threatening looking (even through they're probably lovable!) while a Pomeranian would probably be smaller and curvier with long curly hair. Their color as a dog imitates their hair color, as well.features:
Inuonis are very trusting, lovable creatures. They have a dog-like abilities including amazing senses. They're very friendly and most people seem to love them. They're very tight knit, and gather in pack-settings (if no ohter Inuonis are nearby they will join a 'pack' of humans). They are strongest together, and depend upon each other for support.lifestyle:
Inuonis often live with multiple roommates or as a family. They really love being near each other, even when they don't want to be in the same room. Few Inuonis are willing to live alone, and the loners that do often end up joining some sort of pack in the end. Werewolves
woeful wanderer
description:
Werewolves are unusual creatures in the world of immortals. They are one of three kinds of creatures that were once human themselves, and they spend most of a month still living that way. They often resent and avoid other immortals if they can, making them reclusive and hard to know much about. Most werewolves go through different stages of life. To begin with, they tend to experience denial about what they are, then they try to fix it, and most werewolves take to distancing themselves from everyone else when they have to accept what they are. Few truly come to terms with it.appearance:
Through most of the month, werewolves look pretty averagely human, with the exception of their odd, piercing yellow eyes. Most werewolves look rather ragged, though, particularly around the times of the transformations (which are painful and often leave them even more torn looking). in their wolf form, which they take on once a month on the full moon, they appear as huge, wild wolves.features:
Werewolves are powerful creatures that can only be killed with silver. Even in their human form, they are stronger and maintain a fit form with little effort. They crave meat and eat it so rare it's practically raw. They follow wolfish tendencies and abilities including enhanced senses. lifestyle:
Most Werewolves are pretty reclusive and do their best to live alone. Some will gather in small packs occasionally. They rarely confide their secret willingly to anyone (particularly not toward humans). Typically they try to find somewhere quiet and out of the way to live. A few will try to take measures to control their condition and assimilate with society.Vampires
starving stalker
description:
Perhaps the most feared creature among the immortals is the vampire. Vampires are bloodthirsty creatures that lust for blood. There are four different classes for vampires, but one thing is for sure. These creatures get more and more uncontrollable the longer they go without blood. Vampires are known to be dangerous and self-serving (even if they don't want to be), and they can only be killed through a number of small, specific practices.appearance:
There are four different classes of vampires. Class A are original vampires. They were cursed long ago, and have not aged since. These vampires are beautiful creatures of various ages that almost glow with unnatural beauty. They have enchanting red eyes and do not age past when the curse was put on them. Class B vampires are born vampires. Like Class A vampires, they're unnaturally beautiful, but their eyes only show red when they're hypnotizing someone. Class B vampires do not age beyond their young twenties. Class C vampires are vampires bitten and converted by Class A vampires. They appear as old they did when they were bitten, never aging past that point. However, they look "more beautiful" after their transformation into a vampire is complete, losing and blemishes or wounds. Class D vampires are horrible, twisted, mindless creatures. They look like demented versions of themselves before they were bitten, and cannot control their bloodlust (meaning they're often filthy and have blood on them. All vampires have an aversion to sunlight and thus they are never tan.features:
All vampires are equipped with inhuman strength and speed. They are gifted with sharp fangs to help them feed on the blood of humans, the only thing that can sustain them (though they might attack other creatures to get a quick fix between feedings) .All vampires except Class A can be killed with a wooden stake, or can be burned to death. Class A vampires can only be killed if stabbed by a wooden cross enchanted by a witch. It is advisable to then cremate the body of the vampire because if the cross is removed the vampire can come to life. Class A: Hypersensitive senses, able to conceive Class B vampires, able to convert humans into Class C vampires, extreme speed, extreme strength, able to up to a week without human blood (does not have to kill), hypnosis abilities (humans, other vampires, other weaker willed immortals), does not age
Class B: Hypersensitive senses, able to convert humans to Class D vampires, extreme speed and strength, does not age past early twenties, able to last a few days without human blood (does not have to kill), hypnosis abilities (humans and weak willed Class C vampires)
Class C: Hypersensitive senses, extreme strength and speed, must obey master's will, does not age past being bitten, must feed daily (has to kill if misses a day), hypnosis abilities (humans only)
Class D: Hypersensitive senses, extreme strength and speed, driven by bloodlust, must feed daily and always kills, constant lack of control
lifestyle:
Vampires often assimilate very smoothly with human society. Since many of them were humans at one point, they often had lives already to move to their new situation. Class A vampires are typically incredibly rich because they've lived so long. Most are surrounded by small armies of their children and servants, as well. Class B vampires are typically rich a well, often from their own family's wealth as well as their long lives. Class C vampires frequently end up servants to the families of Class A vampires. Class D vampires however, typically slum on the slow rung of society, sneaking about and looking for easy prey.Witches
magnificently magical
description:
Witches are magical beings who wield control over the elements. They can control virtually anything with the right incantation or potion. Unlike other immortal creatures, though, witches' abilities rely on a number of ingredients, tools or special conditions. They're much closer to humans than most other immortal creatures.appearance:
Witches basically appear like humans. They have very normal hair colors and eye colors, and can be a wide variety of body shapes and sizes, and skin color. Despite the typical association with the name, "witch" can be both masculine or feminine.features:
Magical powers have few limitations among witches. Outside of a rulebook of what they aren't allowed to mess with (time, space, life, death and things that generally would be considered harmful) witches have the capability to dabble in anything. Most witches have a speciality (fire magic, spirit magic, etc) though some prefer to keep quiet about what their speciality is. Witches who are found breaking the rules are punished harshly (often their magic will be taken from them) by a counsel of elder witches. Their powers require incantations and ingredients to work. Witches live hundreds of years, and age much slower than humans. Half-witches age faster and only live a few hundred years, but have the same abilities as other witches (though they might have more trouble learning to use them). Generally, witches are a force of good, and some even help human hunters to find creatures they think to be forces of evil. Generally, witches are not hunted by humans unless the human has some sort of vendetta (against witches in general or the specific witch).lifestyle:
Witches live a pretty average lifestyle compared to a human. They generally have jobs (though they rarely set in one for too long, lest someone realize they're not aging) and homes (though, again, they will move often to protect their identity). Many enjoy traveling, but most have roots somewhere and can return to that place. One thing a human might notice inside a witch's home, though, is how much storage space they have, as many witches gather a large amount of books and bestiaries and ingredients to use for their magic.Ghosts
cheating chance
description:
Ghosts are imprints upon the world of souls that aren't yet ready to let go. Most of them have some reason they stayed behind (a goal of some sort), but some just really didn't want to leave. It's said that once they feel fulfilled, a ghost may move on, but until then they are tied to some place or object.appearance:
As they were once human, ghosts generally have a very human appearance when it comes to physical features. Some might be missing appendages or have defects caused by their death reflected in their image. They are never completely solid, though their images definitely grow more solid and defined at night. A soft glow emits from their form, which generally has a fairly blue tint even when they're in their most solid form they can achieve. Some ghosts are stronger than others because they had a stronger attachment tying them to this world.features:
Unlike most creatures, Ghosts are unable to travel very far. They are attached to some object or place and must be near that object at all times. Many ghosts are concious of who and where they are, but those who are not, simply relive their death or a bad memory over and over until their imprint fades. Most ghosts can effect physical objects (closing doors, moving a candle stick, etc), but how powerful their effect is depends on how powerful the ghost is. Ghosts are more powerful at night, which is why they can take a near solid form in darkness (the extremity of this depending on the power of the ghost). Most ghosts are either sad or angry, kept to this world by some regret or need for vengeance. A few, however, were just afraid to die. ALL ghosts were human (half human ghosts must be approved by an admin) before they died.lifestyle:
Ghosts rarely travel far, being tied to some sort of place or object. Most just haunt that place or object (though a few must relive a painful memory until they simply fade). Many ghosts are willing to interact with other beings, but most are shy of humans (even though ghosts were human once). They have nothing to fear from hunters.Reapers
willfully waiting
description:
Reapers, the bringers of death. These creatures roam the world, collecting the souls of the dead and ushering them to the afterlife. Most people are afraid of reapers, so reapers have come to a place where they're pretty distant from society and not much is known about them beyond their personal group. appearance:
Reapers simply appear as humans. Most have almost sickly pale skin, but all of them definitely have a sort of gaunt look about them. Most reapers also have long hair (regardless of male or female) because they don't care enough to get it cut until it's truly hindering them. They wear dark clothes, generally and all cary a death scythe that might appear as a very simple, normal object (a pen or a key chain or whatever) until they choose to use it. Most reapers have yellow or red eyes.features:
Reapers work in a shockingly business-like method. Their "home office" (purgatory) is a massive library with records of every life that ever existed. Here, reapers decide where they will send the souls of the living. Highest level reapers typically act as judges and do not leave the home office. They make all the judgement calls on whether a soul is worthy to go to paradise or not. Below them are reapers who fetch the souls of beings like drakokin and fei, that may be hard to collect. The greater bulk of reapers collect souls from humans. The lowest level reapers are tasked with finding ghosts and helping them to move to the afterlife. Reapers do not discuss their business with non-reapers and they cannot reproduce with non-reapers (it is physically impossible). Reapers are immortal, only dying if someone manages to kill them, so most reapers do not reproduce at all (thus, young reapers are rare). No other creatures cannot sense reapers, but reapers are able to sense other creatures. They are elusive, and hunters rarely find reapers, but consider them to be the ultimate prize if they can be killed.lifestyle:
Many reapers will live like humans (buy a home, get a job, etc) to more effectively go about their business and blend in with humans. Some simply return to purgatory between jobs. When they're not working, a reaper is free to do as he or she likes (so long as they're not killing people without orders).coded by DESTINY for KINGDOMS
